Lawrence practices with the Business group in Ottawa.

Lawrence was educated at the University of Toronto and Queen's University Law School. He joined Soloway, Wright upon his call to the bar in 1976.

Lawrence has been active in a wide range of community volunteer activities and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 in recognition of his contributions. He is currently chair of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation.
