Medical Malpractice
If counsel do not undertake risks such as the one in this action, some meritorious claims will never be litigated and deserving plaintiffs will suffer an injustice. Medical negligence claims are expensive to prosecute, complex, time consuming and must be prosecuted vigorously. There are few lawyers who will agree to represent a plaintiff in a medical negligence action, particularly when one factor is the risk of establishing liability and the disbursements involved are significant.
Mr. Justice Lalonde, Lurtz v. Duchesne et al.
Soloway, Wright are those lawyers. Our lawyers will take the time to assess carefully if you have a case against a health care professional or hospital and we give you the advice and information you need to decide if you want to sue.
Soloway, Wright has extensive experience in medical malpractice, including claims relating to the following:
- Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (lack of oxygen) leading to brain injury at birth resulting in cerebral palsy;
- Hyperbilirubinemia (severe, untreated or improperly treated jaundice) leading to brain injury and cerebral palsy;
- Failure to diagnose and properly treat septicaemia in newborn, leading to life-long impairment;
- Failure to diagnose and properly treat meningitis in children;

- Surgical and orthopaedic errors;
- Negligence in pre-hospital paramedic care;

Soloway, Wright deals primarily with catastrophic injury cases where those people who have been adversely affected - children, mothers, fathers, individuals - and who are left with significant loss of income or the high cost of treatment and future care needs that they, or their family member, have. The lawyers at Soloway, Wright will tell you what you need to know, what you can expect to happen and what steps we will take to help you take action on behalf of yourself and your family.
